Don Giovanni at Furman University

On Friday, April 22nd at 8pm and Sunday, April 24th at 3pm, Furman Lyric Theater returns to McAlister Auditorium for their first indoor performance since 2019 with a performance of Mozart’s classic opera, Don Giovanni.

Baritone John Potvin will star as Don Giovanni while Scott Johnson will play the romantic tenor role of Don Ottavio opposite soprano Laura Woody’s Donna Anna. Other cast members include Salleigh Harvey as the Commendatore, Ben Connelly as Leporello, Carson Hardigree as Donna Elvira, and Matthew Butler as Masetto, while Wallis Lucas and Addison Ballew share the role of Zerlina.  Members of the Furman Singers will play the chorus.

This classic opera narrates the legends of Don Juan, a fictional Spanish aristocrat known to be a serial womanizer. When the titular character takes things too far, the opera follows the efforts of Don Ottavio, Donna Anna, and Donna Elvira as they attempt to bring the scoundrel to justice.

The performances will be open admission.
